Millennials Winding Road to Purchase [Map]

Every purchase is a winding road for Millennials, according to this research by Alliance Data, the card services and marketing firm, with the actual purchase a relatively minor stop in between the web and mobile phone research, the social media confirmation, the unboxing, and more social media confirmation.

This roadmap may actually understate the route, if you believe Google’s notion of “micro-moments” that says that, thanks to mobile phones, the purchase decision is an ongoing process that happens in spare moments between other purchases.

How to get your business on the purchase map for Millennials? It helps to think through the steps of the customer journey for your service or product, make sure your website is the most mobile friendly it can be, and always stay on top of social media.

Here’s the Alliance Data infographic plus soundtrack.
