Why Physicians Need to Go Online to Market Their Practice

In some ways, online marketing and doctoring professions seem at odds. Physicians deal with private information, and online marketing is all about being very public. But while physicians need to be selective about the choices they make online, they shouldn’t forgo online marketing altogether.

This infographic from Medical Web Experts makes a case for marketing your healthcare organization online.

Of note:

  • Potential clients are looking for you online. Can they find you there?
  • 90% of users do not look past the third page of results.
  • 50% of users are more likely to click on an item displayed twice on a page — think showing up in organic results, plus showing up in an ad.
  • SEO has a more effective cost-per-lead than radio and commercials.

All this is to say: Don’t count online marketing out! You may not want to tweet photos of your clients like vets do (in fact, you most assuredly DO NOT want to do this), but there are still plenty of other opportunities to optimize your online presence!
