Frequently Asked Questions

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or companies’) products. In this case, affiliates promote Thryv’s small business software. When you promote this product through your dedicated tracking link and someone purchases the product, you make a commission.

Who typically does affiliate marketing?

Anyone that wants to promote the product. Affiliates are typically:

  • Content site owners and bloggers
  • Video bloggers (vloggers)
  • Coupon sites
  • Deal sites
  • Review sites
  • Social media influencers

If you have the ability to reach a targeted group of people, you have the ability to do affiliate marketing.

How do Thryv’s affiliates get paid?

For now, you will need a PayPal account. Learn how to set up a PayPal account here: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/how-paypal-works/how-to-setup-account

Once you have your PayPal account set up, add the same email you used with PayPal to your Thryv affiliate account information. All of your commissions will be directly deposited into your account.

How often are affiliates paid?

Affiliates are paid once a month.

When will I be paid?

Commissions are paid once a month, typically on the second Friday of the month. Make sure you add your PayPal account when you first sign in!

Is there a cost associated with signing up for Thryv’s affiliate program?

No. Signing up as a Thryv affiliate is free and easy to do.

How much are affiliates paid?

We pay $10 for each confirmed demo and $1000 for each confirmed sale. There’s no monthly limit on commissions you can earn. To ensure you receive as much credit as possible, we include a 90-day cookie for all referred traffic.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small piece of data that works with web browsers to store information like user preferences, login or registration information, and shopping cart contents. When someone comes to your blog or website and clicks or taps your affiliate link, a cookie is placed on their computer or mobile device. That cookie is used to remember the link or ad the visitor clicked.

Thanks to cookies, even if a consumer leaves your site and comes back a week later to make a purchase, you will still get credit for the purchase and receive a commission.

How long do cookies last?

This is decided by the merchant. Cookie durations, also known as “cookie life,” depend on the program. For example, cookie life can be set for almost any amount of time. The most common cookie length for an affiliate program is 30 days.

Thryv’s cookie life is 90 days to help ensure you make the most for your promotions. This means when someone clicks your affiliate link, you’ll be paid a commission if they make a purchase within 90 days of the click.
