How Great Training Added 200 New Clients and Saved 10 Hours a Week With Thryv

For small businesses struggling to keep up with leads, customer communication, and daily admin work, centralized business management tools can make growth far more manageable.

Running a growing business often means wearing too many hats at once. For Tyree York, founder of Great Training in Chandler, Arizona, balancing coaching, client communication, scheduling, and business operations quickly became overwhelming as demand increased.

What started as a passion for mentoring young athletes was growing fast — but without the right systems in place, keeping up with new leads and managing customer information became harder every week.

That’s when Great Training partnered with Thryv.

Great Training was built around Tyree York’s mission to mentor young athletes both on and off the field. As interest in the program grew, so did the amount of administrative work required to keep the business running smoothly.

Before partnering with Thryv, Great Training relied heavily on manual processes. Customer information was difficult to organize, follow-ups took valuable time away from coaching, and the business had little online presence to attract new families.

Like many small business owners, Tyree faced a common challenge: growth was happening faster than the systems supporting it.

The Challenge: Managing Growth Without Losing Time

As Great Training expanded, several operational problems started slowing the business down:

• No professional website for families to easily discover programs
• Manual lead tracking and customer organization
• Time-consuming follow-ups with every new inquiry
• Difficulty managing growing client communication
• Less time available for coaching and mentorship

Without automation or a centralized CRM, new inquiries risked falling through the cracks. Every additional client created more administrative work.

For service-based businesses, this often becomes a turning point: either build scalable systems or struggle to maintain growth.

Why Great Training Partnered With Thryv

Tyree turned to Thryv’s small business software platform to simplify operations and create a more scalable system for growth.

The goal wasn’t just adding software. It was creating a process that could:

• Organize client information
• Automate communication
• Improve lead follow-up
• Save time every week
• Support long-term business growth

By combining website management, CRM tools, and marketing automation into one platform, Great Training was able to streamline the daily tasks that were consuming valuable hours.

Professional Website Increased Visibility

Before Thryv, Great Training depended mostly on word-of-mouth referrals. Families had limited ways to find information online or learn about programs.

After launching a professional website through Thryv, the business gained a stronger online presence that made it easier for local families to discover and enroll in training programs.

The website became one of the primary ways new customers learned about Great Training.

As more inquiries started coming in, manually tracking customer information became unsustainable.

Using Thryv’s CRM, Great Training centralized contact information, inquiries, and customer communication into one organized system. This allowed Tyree to:

• Track every inquiry
• Automate lead management
• Improve customer retention
• Keep follow-ups consistent

Instead of relying on spreadsheets or scattered notes, the CRM created a reliable workflow that supported business growth.

One of the biggest operational improvements came from automating responses to new inquiries.

Previously, Tyree handled every incoming message personally. With Thryv’s automated email and text tools, new leads immediately received responses without requiring manual outreach.

The result was a major reduction in administrative workload and significantly faster communication with prospective clients.

Automation allowed Tyree to focus more on mentoring athletes instead of constantly managing incoming messages.

Within the first year of using Thryv, Great Training achieved measurable growth across multiple areas of the business.
