Tasha Oldham, an award-winning documentary filmmaker and entrepreneur, was honored with the Outstanding Woman-Owned Small Business award for 2012. Her commercial production company, My Story Inc., creates advertorials to aid small businesses in marketing their stories through film.
SCORE, the Small Business Administration’s partner organization that mentors entrepreneurs, names a winner each year. No stranger to SCORE, she produced the 2010 national SCORE awards videos and the 2011 public service announcements.
Inspired by her drive to be a filmmaker without limits, Oldham used her own story to begin broadcasting videos on the Web and social media to clients’ speaking gigs and trade shows. My Story brought in a $300,000 profit last year, which shows how small business owners can increasingly cater to mid-size and large-scale companies.
This is not the first time Oldham has been recognized for her outstanding achievements in small business. She also won the Success Story award from her local LA chapter of SCORE in 2010.
