Create Striking, Shareable Images in Less Than 5 Minutes

Recently, bloggers have really upped their game with images. Where a stock image used to suffice, now we may find blog posts that incorporate collages, text graphics,  or other items that look like the work of a Photoshop guru. The benefits of these images are many — besides being more interesting and visual, readers are more inclined to share them on Facebook and Pinterest, and essentially market your blog for you.

These days, you don’t have to be a Photoshop whiz with a ton of time to create a compelling image. All you need are a few minutes and PicMonkey’s free collage feature.

Here’s a few examples of what you can put together.

Make a graphic in less than 5 minutes

This is the most basic use of PicMonkey collage. Choose a background. Select edit. Choose a font. Write something. Voila!

But feel free to get playful.

If  holidays are big business for you, create a holiday-appropriate graphic!

And here we get into the more complicated mechanisms (which are still very easy.)

PicMonkey 3

This grid showcases local food items I photographed along with the hashtag #explorelocal. Btw, look for our #explorelocal hashtag on Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook and use it when you make local discoveries or are promoting your own business!

The following photo is the same as above but with one of PicMonkey’s handy-dandy effects.

local peaches & tomatoes

Effects behave like Instagram’s filters. They’re especially useful if you’re using images that have different light qualities. The effects can make them appear uniform, like the one above, which heightened the colors and puts everything in soft focus.

And for those interested, the font is Chelsea Market and the filter is Orton.

Of note: I made these using the free basic PicMonkey features. An upgrade gets you more options.

So play around with PicMonkey and find your groove. And if use the #explorelocal hashtag, we’ll see your creations around the web!
