First quarter, 2016, data from online booking engine Pingup shows clicking gaining on calling for appointments and reservations, especially by women, and well-organized women at that, tending to book about 45 hours in advance.

About 12% of consumers who clicked a “book an appointment” button on a site went on to in fact book the appointment, up from Q4, 2015 — still web designers should ask themselves why 88% didn’t follow through.

And surprisingly, 60% of the consumers made their appointment during business hours when they could have called, showing a clear preference for online booking.
