Aug. 11 Webinar: Your Social Media Questions Answered

Christine Landry Social Media ExpertYour business needs a social media presence, and Christine Landry, our social media manager and evangelist, will show you how to develop a sanity-saving social media strategy, in our free webinar, Thursday, August 11, starting at 1 PM EDT. It’s one hour, with plenty of time for your questions.

Christine will break down where you should post, who you should target, what you should say – and most importantly – how to do it all as a busy small business owner.

Register now for the webinar: “Maximize Your Social Media Presence with Minimal Time”, August 11 at 1 PM EDT.

We caught up with Christine, in between tweets, for a little Q&A:

What’s your favorite social media platform?

Instagram. I’ve seen small businesses get really creative with it. It’s also, in my opinion, one of the friendliest social spaces. I don’t see as much snarkiness on Instagram.

What’s your favorite aspect of social media?

Ads (to my own surprise). I like how they combine creativity with analytics. It’s fascinating how many different ways you can target a group through social media.

What’s your least favorite aspect of social media?

How mean people can be on it.

What’s the best way to handle complaints?

Reply to them as quickly as you’re able. And don’t get into a tit for tat. It doesn’t do anyone any good.

Ellen Show InstagramWho do you think does a good job of social media?

Ellen Degeneres’ Instagram photos make me laugh.

Any small business social media favorites?

I always like it when one of Echo Valley Farm’s videos on farm life go through my Facebook feed. You can’t help but smile!

Where do you see social media heading?

Toward augmented reality, a la Pokémon GO and Snapchat.

What’s your top social media tip for small business?

Don’t even try to tackle all the social media platforms. You’ll make yourself crazy.

How can a small business grow followers?

Run social ads on occasion to introduce yourself to new followers – you don’t have to have a big budget to do this. Then post consistently to maintain your audience.

How can businesses find the time to manage social media?

Establish your social media priorities – they may not match someone else’s, and that’s fine. Then use tools to help you streamline the work. I’ll cover specific tools in my webinar!
